    miles

I've ridden over 1,000 miles since April, but I didn't log them here. Can I go back and do it?

Yes Amanda you can. If you are already on the Bike Journal, you can add miles all at once. If you are not on the Bike Journal you can join and add miles all at once. The directions on how to do that are on the journal site.

It's kind of fun- one guy just joined about a week ago and added something like 5500 miles all at once which bumped the rest of us in that category down-so if you were 125 you became 126 or whatever! THis happens when new people join. But it's a great site so I do recommend you get all those miles in!

I joined yesterday and sent of a cheque today to become a premier member. My husband got me a diary about 2 months ago and I had been keeping miles in that so I added those. It looks rather sad against some of those huge distances but I guess it all adds up.
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

When I have toy-money and buy a computer, then I'll join. The best I can do at the moment is count the squares in the A-Z and take a distance guesstimate for the day's errands. I need some regular work so I can commute! I mean, think of all the bike toys £20 I wouldn't be spending on the tube each week could buy..!

I'm pretty sure you can be a member of more than one club, then on each ride you get to pick club gets the miles for that ride. Just like if you have more than one bike. So maybe club TE can get half of your miles???

Go to manage clubs and you'll see how to join another one.

ya.... i knew you could join and split your miles... but half the fun of bike journal is to see how high on the "ladder" you can get... if i split my miles... i'd be down on both of them!

now if i could give all my miles to both clubs... then i'd be in both!!!!!!

No, the miles are totalled for you as a user, not per bike or per club. I split my miles between 3 bikes - road, hybrid, and "tagalong" - but my user ID gets credit for all of them. I'm sure with the club it works the same.

Oops, I just realized it might not work that way for the clubs. I'm sure your overall standing would have your total - but probably when you look at the club it would only have the club-based miles. Rats!

bingo! i actually joined TE after i realized you had a club... but yes... my mileage for TE was 0 so i unjoined....

too bad we couldn't put all our miles to a couple of clubs! i would love to be a part of both of them!
