Well, I spent most of the last few weeks doing eye-numbing online research for n+1. I wanted an all-purpose bike but one that could do gravel as well. I want to thank a few of you here who were invaluable with your advice as experienced cross bike owners. Those that responded to my other thread... Thank you so much. I spent a lot of time in several bike shops talking and looking. Unfortunately, NOT test riding, as there is just not ANYTHING on the shop floor in my size. Many measurements later, geometry notes from my recent road bike purchase, and lots of talking... I put down a deposit on my new cyclocross bike. Intended specifically for gravel riding, which I am loving more and more with each ride... I chose the Salsa Warbird.

Should have it shipped, fitted (will be swapping out saddle and probably stem) within a couple of weeks. Can NOT wait. Most exciting purchase in a very long time.

ETA: Didn't purchase it at the shop in the link above, they just had a nice write up about it.

It is a nice write-up. I'm excited for you. I'm keeping my Gunnar Sport around for gravel riding in the rare instances I get the chance, but if I had more gravel around, I'd get a dedicated gravel bike that's a bit lighter. Look forward to your ride reports.

Too cool, Velo! I can't wait to hear about it in action!
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.
