Add leg grippers to cycling shorts?

The shorts for my team kit don't have leg grippers, and they're driving me crazy! Does anyone have any suggestions for how to add leg grippers to them? I've done the silicone caulk trick with some arm warmers and, while it works ok, I'd like to find something a little more polished for these. Also, it would be a bonus if this can be done without visibly sewing through the leg band and distorting the printing there...

Looks like this place (in Portland, OR) sells silicone gripper tape - https://www.fabricline.com/searchRes...earch=silicone. I do think it would have to be sewn in though.
