Talking Well Ladies, after 10 days, I'm still in the lead!!

In an earlier post I told that I'd challenged a friend [male] to a mileage challenge for the year. I told him [and the guys that were at the table] that I'd be counting indoor miles. I figure if I sit on that blasted dinosaur of a stationary for 30 mins to hour and half at a time, that those MILES were going to count. Besides it's MY CHALLENGE, MY RULES...
I'm pleased to report as of this moment, I am STILL #1 in the enhanced stats of Indiana riders at bikejournal.com and for the most part have held the position for the first 10 days of the year!!

I haven't had the opportunity to see my friend or talk to him since I issued the challenge to see his reaction when I told him [on a local forum] that I was STILL ahead of him.
I know this won't last as I babysit my 2 grandsons 8-10 hours a day and when the weather gets nice, he'll likely blow my wheels off, but I'm enjoying it while I can.. Even if Marlin passes me, I'll know that I held the lead for 10 days. The other guys [on this chart] are getting a bit antsy as well. A couple have posted on the forum
I know, I'm just full of myself today... I've never been #1 in anything in my LIFE!!! Of course I know I'm a #1 pain in someone's BACKSIDE right now bragging online. :

    Mary,

    Great stuff! Congratulations!
And why shouldn't you enjoy/savour your own achievements? This is, as you say, YOUR challenge - so you'll always be your most severest critic - so relish every minute!

    20 days and still going

Well, I'm excited to say I'm still in the lead if not #1 for Indiana after 20 days! Marlin hasn't responded to my updates, but I'm still enjoying it.
    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrl power!!
I dropped in my #1 status after spending the evening at the hospital with my Mom. My dad had fallen Wed night at my Grandmother's on some ice and shattered his femur and knee and needed surgery yesterday afternoon to repair his leg. Dad's doing ok and recovering after surgery [as of last night haven't heard anything yet today]
I'm not so worried with holding #1 [although it's been sweet ] but I'm currently more than 100 miles ahead of him [hoping to hold] and riding like a mad woman every chance I get. I know the purist don't think the indoor miles count, but I'd never dreamed I'd have over 400 miles mid January. Sorry if I'm annoying, but I gotta enjoy it while I can.

Mary, you crack me up! I especially like the bunny dancing! Amazing that you've done 400+ miles. As you know, my grand total for January is... 6! From yesterday!

Glad to hear your dad's doing OK. See, ice is dangerous. Much better you ride inside. Keep us posted. L.
