So, my DH and I have gone 495 miles and are in Rochester NY visiting a friend. We are basically taking Adventure Cycling Northern Tier route.
I am blogging: www.thepolkadotjournal.blogspot.com
If anyone lives on the Northern Tier Route and would be open to a visit from two wayward cyclists, let me know.
We got a rough start in a number of ways -- heatwave, broken wheel, a few flats, trouble sleeping. . . but I think these things are "normal" as one gets into a rhythm of touring. It has gotten better overall.
In Rochester I am getting a new stronger wheel and we are taking a couple of rest days. We will be off again early Sunday morning.
I think my father would be proud.
Thanks for all of your support.
Cheers,
Hirakukibou
