I didn't realize that crashing alot was part of road racing in this way.
One thing, that shocked me was a recent article on concussion injuries for...soccer players who use their head to hit the ball. Sometimes the velocity of oncoming ball is enough to shake the brain around...

I agree with you.....Soccer players really have more chances of hurting their head cause they use their head to hit the ball....
That was interesting. It is pretty clear in hindsight Horner shouldn't have been allowed to continue, but at the time, it seemed so heroic. Those decisions need to be taken away from the athlete or team. This sounds like a good thing. Finishing a race isn't worth the consequences.
