    Nasty Cold

I just need to whine a bit, it's been a rough week. I recently moved and re-entered my professional program after a family crisis so I am not surprised I am sick. I have had enough stress to screw up my female cycle so im feeling extra crabby, whiney and tired now. It's supposed to be 50 degrees here tomorrow and I REALLY want to go run my errands on the bike. So far it seems most of this cold is in my head not my chest. It's 4 am here so I'll go riding tomorrow assuming I ever sleep of course??? I did the neti pot, had hot soup and just finished hot tea with lemon and honey. I took some Advil sinus earlier so I can breath a little better but still not great. I am resisting the urge to use Afrin. I know it's not good for me but it sometimes is the only thing that will open up my head to sleep. I hate feeling like crap and not being able to sleep :-(

    Whine over....

    Aw, feel better soon.

(and I'll say it again ... really, try black elderberry extract ... I'd tried everything else first too because I couldn't believe all the hype about black elderberry, but that stuff WORKS if you get on it early in a cold.)

Feel better soon, WR! Is there any chance it's a sinus infection?

Loads of vitamin D and zinc might help wipe it out faster!

Just wanted to chime in and sympathize. I got one of the Vicks vaporizers that you can put the VapoRub stuff in and it seems to help overnight a bit. I've had three of those colds this winter and it's just been awful, but when I got sick the last time I just pretty much slept for a weekend and was (mostly) better by the next Monday.

+1 for this. I don't do zinc but I always supplement extra vitamin D when I'm sick. I think it helps.

Thanks girls I'm feeling better today, I rode a short bit yesterday and plan to again today. It seems like the riding helped break things up. It is supposed to be pretty warm again today so I'd like to get some ride and sunshine. Planning to meet pamom today also to give her a yoga mat

    Unhappy

This afternoon was rough. Started noticing around 4:30 or so that the lights were KILLING me. I managed to get out of work a bit early, around 5 I got home. By that point I was in full scale migraine mode. I can only imagine any myriad of factors contributed to this headache but OMG it was one of the most painful migraines I have ever had. It literally made me cry it was so bad. I thought I was going to throw up from the pain. I was very happy I didn't bc it would have hurt all that much worse. So tonight I'm laying in bed after hours of pain quite mentally and physically drained. I missed my whole afternoon and I have so much school stuff to do it's ridiculous. Frustrating to say the least. I have class early in the morning and I am just praying I don't wake up with another migraine. I don't know about you but after I have a really bad one like this I get anxiety and fear over another one :-( I was scared today it hurt that bad.

(((Winding Road))) I hope it doesn't return and you have no more like that Can your doctor give you something that would help at the onset?
