Yay for goal-setting! I like to set goals too. It's a tangible way to measure your success and achievements. It also gives you focus so you don't wander through life. Now that I've achieved some of my goals, when I get discouraged, I can look back and think "wow! I did that. If I keep working hard, I can do this too."
I wanted to run a 9 min/mile 25k and I ended up running an 8:35/mile 25k
I wanted a new xc bike, it took an entire year, but I managed to save up the money to do it.
I have others, but those are the two that come to mind . . .
And here is the before/after photo . . . I believe this has a lot to do with goal-setting. And really, just believing that you can change, you do have some control in the direction you want your life to go . . .
