For those of you in the Bay Area, and perhaps even further afield, we lost a good one on Sunday, Clay Mankin, CEO of San Francisco's City Cycle. He apparently died of natural causes (at age 49) while on his bike. He was starting off on a bike trip to Santa Barbara for his fiftieth birthday. I only met him recently, but he was so friendly and warm, he's a hard man to forget. He also contributed a great deal to the cycling community at every level. He leaves a young son (a budding biker in his own right) and wife. He was riding on skyline, doing what he loved, when he died...
