Yikes. Hope there's enough of the "stump" left that they only need to replace the crown - and that you get it taken care of once and for all.

I went to my dentist on Monday and he could not find anything wrong. The huge filling on my back tooth is holding up fine and the crown in front of it looked fine. My x rays showed no real sign of infection. He did put me on antibiotics, just in case, because it is sensitive to heat and that is indicator of infection.
It's been getting worse all week. But I think I know what's wrong and I hope to get back in today. There is now a visible gap between the crown and my gum line. I noticed it when I was flossing last night and my floss went between the crown and my gum!
That would explain why the pain is not excruciating. I hope that means no root canal, just replacing the crown. I think it's one I had done in my twenties. PITA no matter what, but at least I've only had to take motrin for it.![]()

I hope you can get in and get that fixed today - it would suck to go through another weekend with it hurting

Yeah, we're suppose to spend the weekend in the city with Thom's folks. They've been on a cruise and it's ending in SF.
Fortunately, motrin has been enough. It really only hurts a lot after I eat or drink something. As long as it stays like that... I can tough it out.![]()
