I don't think it's abnormal for people you wouldn't expect to give. To give $500, though, is exceedingly generous. Perhaps someone in her own life has CF. Perhaps she does. Either way, good on both of you for helping out.

I'm doing a CF Cycle for Life ride next month, which I just decided to do over the weekend. This means that I only have a month to do all of my fundraising. I have only sent out feelers through Facebook and email, and have exceeded my goal ($500) by $220 thanks to a lady who I have known through my glassblowing forum for years who donated $500. I was speechless and so, so touched. Is this normal?

Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

She has three cousins who had CF. I was just so moved when I checked my donation page that I had to get it out somewhere. It was so unbelievably sweet.
It sounds like it was a true gift from the heart. I'm sure she finds what you're doing on behalf of CF to be pretty sweet, too. I would send her a handwritten note thanking her for her gift. If there's anything else you can think of to thank her, I'm sure she'd appreciate that, too.

She works extensively for cat rescue groups and I have found a pattern to make her a crochet afghan that has an abstract cat design in it.I think she will love it.
