This just made me so happy for a cycling friend, I had to share!
On a ride the other week, one of the guys was mentioning that he had been feeling tired mid-ride (40-50 miles) and couldn't figure out what he was doing wrong - he's our most experienced rider, some 20 years, but he battled cancer just over 5 years ago and it changed a few things for him. He said for the past few months, gatorade wasn't doing it.
I suggested trying Nunn or the Camelbak tabs, because gatorade does nothing for me, he said he'd give it a try.
On our ride today, he tells me he tried out the Camelbak tabs. I asked if it worked for him and he says "Well, I don't know..." *pauses* "I was too excited."
"Excited?"
"I could taste the lime in it. It's the first time in five years I could taste anything other than bland. I was so excited, I went to the store and picked up lime chips and my wife found a lite beer with lime, and I could taste those too - I'm going to turn into an alcoholic and live on lime chips!"
How cool is that?
