I am curious is anyone has an internal hub installed on their mountain bike. Nuvinci makes an awesome one that beats the heck out of the noisy and clacky SRAM grip shifters.

I don't have an internal hub but I'm curious if you have ridden with a bike with the Nuvinci hub and how did you like it? They look interesting, but they seem a bit pricey and are seriously heavy (like about 5 pounds as I recall). If you have ridden one, did you find that the advantages of the infinite gearing outweighed the weight??
