    Sirrus Customizing

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I bought a Specialized Sirrus today and wondered if anyone had ideas on some customizing. It's a beautiful matte black but the girl in me would like a little color. NOT pink.

The guy at the LBS grinned and said to go for lime green and showed me the pedals and we both burst out laughing. With lime being a loud "in your face color", a little goes a long way.

Yellow would make it look like a bee.

The right pink might work, but I would rather not go that route.

    Maybe orange.

    White is too bright.

Red..maybe. Would have to be the right red.

Any ideas? Or just keep it all black and not worry about it?

Oooooh, what fun! I think you should do this - an inexpensive way to make your new bike "yours" If your only accent will be your pedals, you have the option of being as outrageous or as understated as you would like.

Nothing wrong with looking like a bee if you like yellow Orange would also be a bit like a bee. I don't know what color options you have, but any bright color would stand out well against the black bike and might also help you to be a little more visible - though pedals aren't very large.

How about a nice bright blue or lavender? (says she with two blue and one purple bikes). You could get a pedal wrench and collect different sets of pedals so your pedal color could match your mood

Ohh...LOVE the metallic purple. Thanks for the link. I'll do some more searching. I have no clue how add any stuff on, but the guy there said he loves to customize bikes and would help me change out stuff.

How about colorful tires? I loved these when I saw them and now TE carries them:

You could go orange, for example, add a few reflective stickers and call it a day.... or, if you go green, perhaps Ergon team green grips (Ergon grips are very comfortable).
