Anyone started a Tri club before?

I'm planning to start a tri group for mommies - something fun and goal-oriented - probably lots of tri-newbies, like me. I know there are more competition oriented clubs here, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I've had my own business before and have some leads on a potential coach / experienced tri mama to lead us, do workshops & training, etc., places to swim (with childcare), run, etc.

Anyone here done something like that before? Any hints / tips, etc. would be much appreciated!

You might check out some of what Moms in Motion does, they have a similar focus. In fact, you might be able to start a Moms in Motion chapter, and take advantage of their model directly. (It may be better to start your own, too, but that's where I'd start)

    Good luck

I'm in a tri club at my local Y that, while not "for" moms, is largely comprised of moms. At 29, I'm the youngster, and possibly the only non-parent. We work out together twice a week, Sunday AMs and Wednesday PMs, and on our own in between. Although I might enjoy a slightly more competitive group, that's a good amount of structure for my busy life. Enough to keep me honest & accountable, but not so much that scheduling is super difficult.
