Did anyone else hear the NPR interview with the Sports Illustrated writer about Lance?

The SI sounds pretty unconvincing to me. I'm not a Lance fan or opponent - I really don't care enough to take a stand in all of this - but far beyond protecting the sources, it all just sounds like they're trying really hard to make doping make sense. I would think, if nothing else, the airport story could be verified with actual records or something!

I'm pretty much sick of professional racers.
I just can't care any more. I was a huge fan of Floyd, and was stupid enough to believe him.
Just can't afford to care any more.
Loooooove my amateurs! Loooooove the race teams supported by the local coffee shops and the local hospitals (Hi, Eden! Hi, Bridget!).
Honestly, if the locals dope they will be so amazingly fabulous that they will ditch the amateur scene pretty darn quick. I trust the amateurs to be clean.

I'm sick of the media giving all this crap the time of day. Continue reporting non-facts and rumors, and you lose my interest.

+1 They just keep rehashing old news in hopes something will come out of it. Yup me too, sick of the media and won't give them the time of day.

I admit I didn't pay super close attention to Lance's stuff even when he was racing --in general. Sure I flipped on the tv to see whatever stage of Tour de France at any available time, watched for half an hr...and then left the tv to do something else.
It's not that I don't care about competitive cycling, but after awhile when all the glory is heaped on a singular rider in his team while team members are busting their asses off...it just turns me off abit.
This is just me..

I wish this was true.... I don't know about the women's fields (and to tell the truth I don't think I want too....), but apparently a lot of *masters* men dope (they tend to be able to afford it and can't stand to let go of their youth apparently)... We had a guy caught and busted here recently. The best he could ever hope for is a good showing at nationals in the master's fields - which gets you accolades and a medal - really worth it... not...
Not me, I'll probably remain a cat 3 forever - and speaking off I need to get off my butt and ready to train legitimately for it..

Yeah, there was a story in one of the enthusiast mags, maybe this summer, about rampant doping among Cat 2s and 3s. They want a little weekend glory and figure they'll never get caught. Kind of the Rosie Ruiz thing, I guess.

For Masters categories...doping?
wonder if they will also take Viagara to boost their ego... Sorry, poor joke, eh?![]()
