    Introducing: Oby 2 Kenobi!

I still haven't ridden this bad boy (Oby/Oberon always seemed sort of gender-neutral, but this bike seems to be all mischievous guy). He arrived while I was in Las Vegas for the Marathon/Half. I arrived home Tues. night to find a big surprise waiting in the bedroom. Unfortunately our roads are now covered with snow and slop and we're predicted to get 8"+ of snow overnight. So I may not be looking at an actual outdoor ride until March, in these parts.

Oby 2 (named by our shop guy before we had even ordered him. Mike is a funny guy--he picked out the orange hoods, which I adore) hasn't been on the trainer, even. I can't bring myself to take my inaugural ride in the living room.

So for now I'm content to keep riding the original Oby (Synapse 5) on the trainer. We're up to 3600+ miles since 11/12/09. I was definitely ready for something a bit faster for some planned duathlons in '11.

Here's hoping for a short Winter!

Wow. It matches my team colors. We might have to make that our team bike!
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.

That would be way cool! I had actually hoped to have "Sid blue" handlebar tape and cable housing, but the Sid blue cable housing is more royal (that's what's on my bike) and the Sid blue Fizik tape is more turquoise (like the color scheme of Oby 1). The tape that our shop ended up using is a metallic blue that is a nearly perfect match to my Sidi shoes (Dominator 5 mtn. shoes).

I was totally envious of the cyclists providing support on the Vegas Marathon course. I could very happily move to warmer climates right about now.

I'm already sick of it and so far we've had an "easy" Winter. Meh.

I love the orange, too. I thought I might wait another year for an upgrade road bike, but when I saw the orange and SRAM it was a sign.

Ha, I've been told Illini, U of VA, and Hope College (my hubby's alma mater). My alma mater's colors are blue and white. Not nearly as flashy.
