I have been doing weekly short track races but this weekend is my second XC race. The first one was definitely a roadie course, flat as a pancake. This one isn't much better. I am better at wearing people down on climbs, I am getting better at fast stuff thanks to the Short Track races but this could be interesting. The course is sandy, not very technical, some roots, long bridges over swamp and some very short climbs. Not even really punchy climbs but long false flats to suck your lungs out. And a couple really short ones to get the heart rate up.

My division is pretty small unlike my last race but my expectations of my ability are higher. I am also trying to get on DH's team but I don't feel committed enough yet even for a club team. Eeek now where is the off button for my over active brain?
