    Energy bar recipes

Anybody got a favorite? Here's mine:

    Energy Bars
    combine
    1 C oatmeal
    1/2 C vanilla protein powder
    1/2 C fiber cereal
    1/4 C flax seeds
    1/2 t cinnamon
    combine & add to above
    1 egg
    1/2 C applesauce
    1/4 C milk
    allow dry ingredients to hydrate
    ~5-10 minutes, then add
    1/2 C chopped nuts
7 OZ dried fruit (about 1 cup)

Oil 9X9" baking dish well. Bake 325 degrees, 30 minutes
Cut into squares & take out of dish while warm.

They don't melt in the sun & the ingredients are natural, so I think they feed our bodies better than chemicals that I cannot pronounce.

Wanted to let you know I tried this recipe this past weekend, I got rave reviews from the gang! Of course there were requests for variations from everyone and some who said just dandy as is!

My batch disappeared in one sitting, with samples for everyone. How long do they stay fresh? I individually wrapped them in plastic, I figure 5 days maybe. I also did a calorie count by ingredient and found that in a 8x8 pan (didn't have 9x9) and cut into 12 squares, approx 185 calories.

So the base recipe will get some different fruits and nuts, just wanted to thank you.

I'm not sure how long they stay fresh unrefrigerated. I always err on the side of caution - so I'd refrigerate after ~ 3 days.

    Glad you liked them!

This one is good. I wrap them with plastic wrap and freeze them
