SAG guy and I did the Cy Fair Lions Ride for Sight together today. It was a nice ride, the weather was somewhat cooler but the humidity is still high. The ride was mostly through gently rolling countryside and the Sam Houston National Forest which had some nice rollers. Nice to have some decent weather for a ride and an opportunity to ride with the SAG guy.
I found it interesting that although himself does 6 spin classes a week, he still can't manage the hills without exhausting himself- I guess he must be trying to bull his way up instead of finding a good rhythm. He bonked severely at about 32 miles but refused to do anything but drink water because he figured he had been scarfing cookies at each rest stop. Of course he did not remember that he had been in a hurry to get going and hadn't eaten any breakfast, and his version of electrolytes is iced tea........I managed to not say anything and even offered to ride the last 5 miles and get the car but he said he would finish and he did.
Never mind, until the bonk and hissy fit of temper, it was a pleasant ride. It's interesting to have someone to ride with every now and then.
