    New Bike! YAYYYYYYY!

I've been hankering for a new bike. Mostly something for towing the kids all over the place and something I could ride all winter and not worry too much about . . .

I got something even better. A hard-tail, aluminum frame, really light-weight mountain bike! For really cheap. It's a Trek 8000.

It was the perfect scenario: Ex boyfriend bought girlfriend mountain bike so they could ride together all the time. First time on the trail: she couldn't keep up, he got impatient, she cried, big fight ensues and girl never mountain bikes again. 5 years later the bike is still in the basement, the guy is long gone, and the girl needs some extra cash. Enter Limewave. Mwha-ha-ha-ha!

Sadly, I can't get out to tune-up the bike just yet (all it needs is some lube and seat adjustment). Hopefully this evening. I CANNOT WAIT. I also got a really great pair of mountain bike shoes (worn once), SPD pedals, flat pedals, spare tire, and cyclocomputer (her boyfriend really wanted biking to be their thing).

I almost feel bad about how little I paid for it, but I couldn't afford one cent more right now either. Now the bike will get the love and attention she deserves. I'm really looking forward to testing her out on some climbs.

Congrats! I bought my first mountain bike for probably a fair price but a little on the low end, I talked her down because of scratches and needing a tune-up. But I rode the snot out of it and couldn't afford a cent more, she had a $750 mountain bike for riding from the bus to class. In your case she got some cash and the bike finally gets some love, same story for my once-commuter bike.
