some days

some days I just can't get comfortable in the saddle, some days I end up counting pedal strokes to the mile, counting the telephone poles,lines in the road, mailboxes, shurches, or playing license plate license cribbage or alphabet search. Some days everything is a bit uncomfortable, or itches, or hurts. Some days I can't get my breath, or pant, or get some stupid mind worm of a stupid tune or phrase stuck on an endless loop in my brain. Some days I do it just to prove that I can, or because I am too stubborn to admit defeat, or because because I am frantic to be anywhere but where I am.

Today was not one of those days!
Today, everything flowed together and the 40 miles was like a blessing.
