    My new Brooks has arrived

After reading all the positive comments on this forum, I finally ordered a Brooks B17 Standard. My initial idea was to install it on my future touring bike. Right now I put it on my road bike and I will go for a 1st test ride this afternoon. I don't know yet how it will feel, but one thing is certain: it looks beautiful :-)

What a beautiful saddle - and bike! May you and your Brooks have many happy miles - and glad to hear you got the regular B-17 rather than the "s" version.

    thanks :-)
just coming back from my 1st test ride, and I really like that new saddle. I really appreciate the firm, no-padding feel of it. I think I will stick with Brooks from now on.

Congratulations on your new saddle. The Brooks experience is a very unique relationship. The presentation alone makes you feel like you're worth a million dollars. I think a gorgeous leather saddle ranks as high as a nice leather purse.

How nice! I'm wanting to get a Brooks. They are so classic. But I get overwhelmed when I go to buy one with all the different types and end up not buying one.

You and me both! And then I start thinking about my sit bones' center and outside measurements and that metal cantle and I get even more confuzzled.

Glad to hear that I'm not alone on this one.

    Never fear, my dears!

The Gurus of Brooks (aka "Brooks Cult") are here!

Give us your measurements, and I bet within a day you will have half a dozen saddle suggestions! (and with the 6 months free trial/full refund deal from Bill at www.wallbike.com , you can't go wrong even if WE'RE wrong!)

(but of course, we're *never* wrong.... )

Got my first Brooks saddle put on my commuter bike today. Will test it out in a few days when I get my legs back (I got hit by a car yesterday). It feels so hard--I wonder how long it will take to break in...

Hit by a car I am assuming from your wording that you and your bike are ok?

Hey you Brooks lovers I am looking into getting one myself. I am 6' tall and have the hips to match. Sit bone to sit bone is 177mm. I ride long distances on mostly improved bike trails these days. Trails are limestone gratings for the most part. I will be going on a bike trip DC to Pittsburgh in Sept on my new Cannondale. I ride on an old women's Avocet saddle that has seen better days. It was a great saddle 25 years and 30 lbs ago (before kids) After having kids my girl parts changed along with the added weight my old saddle just doesn't hit right. Any suggestions on which Brooks to start with?

    Thanks
