    I think I'm cursed - sob -

I just want to go on a nice bike ride. It's not like I'm asking to win the lottery or anything. One thing after another after another is preventing me from riding.

1st we had almost an entire week of crazy wind. 3 days of crazy wind, then one day I was able to ride, then 3 more days of crazy wind. I could have gone out and been miserable - but I just want to have some fun.

Finally we had a nice day on Saturday and I went out and fell and got trapped in a conversation so long that there wasn't time to ride. Then I got on my bike and had chain problems and fell again.

Yesterday I was sick all day - very dizzy and nauseated. If I'd hit my head on my falls Saturday, I would have been worried and gone to the Dr. Instead I just stayed in bed for most of the day and drank lots of fluids.

Today I thought "finally!" No wind, I planned to take another route . . . I got a couple hundred feet down the road, realized I forgot my helmet, tried to turn around to go get it and fell AGAIN! Now my rear wheel's bent (it keeps hitting the stay), I'm covered in scratches and bruises, and I'm thisclose to being in tears.

    I don't know why I keep falling. I think maybe I'm off balance. Maybe it's my sinuses . . . I don't know but GRRRRRRR!

Dagnammit!!!!!! Where's the temper tantrum smiley???

Well, at least you don't look like this:

I feel for ya. It's rained here for over a week. i missed my organized 52 mile ride last weekend because of rain.

My BIL just wrecked his bike. He discovered in the ER he had a sinus infection and that made him dizzy.

Hang in there! It will be OK.

yeah - the day was really topped off when I was flossing my teeth and a filling came out, and then I realized I'd forgotten to go to my annual Dr. appt. But everything will be OK! Since I can't afford to get my bike fixed yet, I'm going to start running and I'm actually quite excited about that!

I actually posted a reply on this thread yesterday but it didn't show up - what a day. Thanks for the support!

I hear ya. All the nice weather seems to have shown up when I was in Cleveland...200+ miles away from my bike. Now that I'm home, it's cold and rainy, and the minivan died. Off to the bike shop with me so that I can pick up a rack.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

    So change your attitude....

to one of I'm going out to have a nice bike ride. No falls, no wind, no broken bike parts and then ride like there's no tomorrow.

No excuses. Life is a mindset and sometimes things do set us back but we've got to get back in the saddle and remember why we're there in the first place.

    Have fun!

    Thanks bikerchic!

I'm going to be back in the saddle again tonight. My LBS guy says I do need a new rear wheel, but he got it straight enough that it will roll and it's safe to ride.

Now - how to choose a wheel? I think I'll post that question in gear & accessories.
