Short of driving an hour back down to the bike store to ask the guy who replaced my old seat post with a new fangled one, I thought I would ask here...
The old seatpost, to adjust saddle tilt - I loosened the screws and picked up the half circle shaped piece that sat on top the seat post. It had grooves on it and on the seat post. You picked it up and set it in a new groove, then tightened the screws back in. Nice and easy.
This new one is like this one here. The page says "Adjustments are easy as well, just tighten the front or rear screw according to which way you want the saddle to tilt, anywhere from -5 to + 29 degrees." The problem I'm having is the seat is loose in the clamps. The front screw is tight, but if I tighten the rear screw, the rear of the seat moves down which is NOT what I want. How do you get these set up?
The old one seemed so much easier. Bike shop guy told me the post wasn't long enough and I shouldn't be riding on it as I didn't have enough length in the tube...
