Soft tissue issues relieved by Adamo, but now SI joint pain!

As the title says.. my soft tissue issues were totally solved by switching to an Adamo saddle. I love it, and tried a few more-traditional saddles today (cutout, big dent, etc.) at my LBS and instantly had soft tissue worries again.

Unfortunately, the Adamo is causing SI joint issues for me. It is a bit too wide for me at a couple points (more pear-shaped than T-shaped), and I'm really not sure where to go from here. For now, we've tilted the nose down so my legs contact it a little differently, but ultimately I don't think the problems will go away. I've put over 200 miles on this saddle so far this year, and every ride the pain begins about 15-20 miles in. My 41 mile ride on Tuesday was absolutely horrid.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have the Adamo Road model right now - would one of their other models potentially work for me? The 135 mm seatbone width is not a problem, and I might be okay going a little narrower.

My LBS owner did say that my pelvis could use a more flexible saddle, or at least one narrower, as long as it's not too narrow for my seatbones.

My fit otherwise is fine. He rechecked all of my measurements and angles today, but there's something about the change in saddle that is just making my SI joint angry. At this point, it seems like I have to choose between soft tissue pain (which prevents me from having sexual relations with my boyfriend for days after a ride and causes lasting pain) or SI joint pain that shortens my rides but disappears well within 30 minutes of getting off the bike.

First off, I ride a tri bike...

I LOOOOVE the relief the Adamo provides for me in the front as well, BUT I have a problem with it too.

It irritates a cyst that formed where my body meets my leg (like were your underwear seam would rest alongside of the crotch panel) because of the width.

I started out with the Adamo Race and probably put about 1000 miles on that saddle before trading it out for the Typhoon... just hoping that the padding would cushion the cyst as bit. Nope. Still there. Still irritates it.

I'm thinking about trying a Selle SMP next. I have had absolutely no luck with regular cut out saddles at all.

I feel your pain. The Adamo is 'nearly' perfect. If only it were more narrow, but then the relief zone would also be smaller (and more like a regular cut out). I guess it's a 6-in-one thing...

Yes, i think you're right. taking the nose off is putting a lot more stress on the sacroiliac, sounds like

After doing more research and question-asking, I was referred to this website: http://www.cobbcycling.com/

The V-flow Max ALMOST looks like it could do the trick. I want to compare its dimensions to the Adamo (and I've asked my LBS owner if he could possibly get one in for me to test ride), but it MIGHT work out. I'm thinking about trying one of the longer/narrower Adamo models (Podium, I think) as well.

I have the feeling this is a leg-length discrepancy thing, and I'm trying to find a way to sort it out without having to go back to soft tissue pain and tears.
