Temps here in the Ohio River Valleyhave for the past week have been hot/humid and/or pouring rain in buckets. Three more days and scattered showers and were going to be rewarded with sun and 80 degrees for high temp for Sunday!!! Yippppeeeeee!!!

(yes, simple things in life excite me)

I went for a ride this morning. Glad I did, but it was pretty disgusting outside.

Hopefully I can slip a ride in on Sunday...this sporadic access to the car is getting on my nerves.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

92 degrees this afternoon...I want to ride this evening but my soft tissues are just a tiny bit sore - I could grin and bear it and it would be far more comfy than my Monday ride...but will probably wimp out. Anything is worth being completely healed for the Clinic this weekend. It is supposed to rain tomorrow - and I think it will be safe to ride tomorrow - but can go to spinning if it should rain.

Darn it, I WANT TO RIDE this evening

I'm hating this wind today! I really want to ride but so sick of fighting the wind.

That is the nice thing about being so close to Eagle Creek. I do get tired of it, but it is my "go-to" place when it is windy. It is certainly far more moderate there than in my empty corn fields!

Enough soreness should be gone so I can ride tomorrow

Skipped the group ride today and did a trail run.
I made the right decision. 93 degrees, high humidity, and bad air quality. Although I did a lot better riding in the heat last year, since I'm just getting over a sinus infection and my lungs are not 100%, I'm not going to risk it. Hirakukibou and I are riding at 6:30 AM tomorrow and it probably will already be in the low 70s.

Rode a hilly 22.5 today and thought was gonna die from the heat/humidity. It wasn't that the temp was so much higher than usual, it was the humidity that got jacked. I'm ready for the beach...at least it will be flat there!

High of 97 here today with heat index of 100. Code Orange ozone air alert. I did a short walk outside at lunchtime to warm up (b/c the gym at work is FREEZING), then lifted weights and did some core mat work.

Tomorrow I'll run -- on the treadmill in the gym. Too hot for me to run outdoors in these temps.

I rode Sat - Sun - Mon - Tues and will not ride again until this Sat. morning.

Revised forecast... Sunday 77 and mostly sunny... Followed by two more days below 80 and dry. I'm almost giddy with glee.

Woo! I need to take the bike to the shop tomorrow for two derailleur adjustments. (Tried doing it myself. Disaster.) Hopefully they get it done quickly...like before Sunday. I'm not optimistic, but maybe they'll come through for me.

I ended up riding to a short medical appt. (12 miles rt) at noon yesterday, after the skies opened up at 6:30 AM, canceling my ride with Hirakukibou. It was about 80 and humid, but partly cloudy and breezy, making the ride pretty good. Until I stopped! I had to wipe down in the bathroom when I got there. On the way back, it was warmer and sunnier, but not the worst. I would not have wanted to do a real road ride. The air quality must have been horrible, though, because within 2 hours of getting home, I was sneezing and my lungs felt kind of crappy.
Back to the Claritin, although it did storm in the evening and supposedly the air quality is better. The humidity is still there this morning... better exit soon.
