...new place, same old me!
I've been off line for a while in the process of moving from Portland, OR to Tucson, AZ. I gotta say I love the weather here! T-shirt and sandles today!
Tomorrow my sister and I are meeting with a group of cyclist just to get acquainted. Neither one of us are up for as long of a ride as they have planned but we are going to go for a ride along the Rillito River. I'm hoping this will be the start of many more bike rides, I started my riding here in Tucson and it feels like home I'm glad to be back and it will be fun riding with my sister again. She's the one that got me started road riding in the first place! You never know maybe there is another El Tour de Tucson left in this old gal.
Wishing everyone a very happy 2010 and keep the rubberside down!

Welcome (back) to Tucson! I've only been here for a year and a half but I love it. My boyfriend used to live practically on the Rillito River path so we've ridden on it several times.![]()
I'm jealous.I went to the U there and I miss Tucson terribly. I told DH I'm moving to Tucson when I retire (he's welcome to join me if he likes).
Welcome back to the best little giant town in the SW. Glad you're back in your element and riding again.
Don't be such a stranger around here!![]()

Hey thanks all for the welcome! Nice to know some TE posters live nearby too. I first did the RR ride 10 years ago! I thought is was so awesome then but haven't been back since so I'm really looking forward to it. I like the idea of not having to deal with cars and stop lights, just riding.
Tri Girl Tucson would be an awesome place to retire to! I'm still trying to figure out how I managed the summers in the desert and guess in a few short months I will rediscover the heat and be missing the northwest. Can't have it all can ya? LOL

Except you CAN have it all. You can be a snowbird (another retirement dream of mine). Cool summers and warm winters. What's not to love about that?![]()

I keep wondering if 45 is too young to be a snowbird... I grew up in Yuma and hated all the old people who would move in every winter- and now I know that they were so very wise. So very wise...![]()
