    Or jeans challenge ride

    To disable ads, please log-in.

It would be cheaper since most (or all) of us, do have at least wearable pair of jeans.

But some/many of us don't (or haven't in ages) cycled in jeans, it would be a challenge. Or maybe it's already challenge because your jeans are quite tight/low slung. Then we have this virtual ride over 1 wk. and post evidence of jeans ride. 1 wk. gives us lot of time to choose time/day.

If showing your face / too much of yourself is too much, just even a photo of jean leg on foot pedal.

Ok...Hallowe'en costuming is abit much..for those of us who aren't going to any Hallowe'en gig in town.

Ok...I bet you'll get your photo up sooner...it's raining today and maybe tomorrow. But if there is break in weather and dearie is around to shoot a photo of me. He's gone for rest of day to chair another cycling meeting.

Will be riding on those jeans seams Or maybe those jeans are loose enough after all.
Should rename this ride as the Fredageek girl jeans ride.

A challenge with someone in Texas..I've never met anyone from Texas yet. So this is the next best step.

Um, I ride in jeans all the time. I probably wouldn't do a long ride (20+ miles) and I wouldn't wear jeans if I expected rain. I might wear bike shorts under the jeans.

Most bikers I see are in street clothes.

Still can have a photo of a jean part of you + bike, Pam.

Most people here in TE, ride in jeans often /all the time? If if not, some of us need to be nudged into them..for the bike saddle.

Ah, saddles. I found jeans uncomfortable until I got a good saddle (Specialized Lithia on a hybrid).

I'll try to get a photo but I might be late. My SO is in the hospital with pneumonia so life is hectic. I'm squeezing in a short stress relief ride right now!

Ok, there was a weather break. Last time I cycled in jeans was.. 1992. No kiddin'. And it was when I tried a brand new bike to return to cycling after a 12+ yr. hiatus. OW!!!! That premier ride hurt bad in jeans and on a unfamiliar bike/saddle. Ride was 9 kms.
I did it today. I didn't go far..like just 2 kms. with a dim sum pick up and buckwheat noodle stop. And discovered I should have: used leg bands for both legs, not 1. My jeans were looser than months ago so falling down abit.

How do people cycle without leg bands, when pants are wider at hem??

I asked a young guy-pedestrian to take a photo. He seemed embarrassed to do this: " I gotta get going", he said, mumbling as he handed my camera back after shooting the photo.

As a result of this baby ride in jeans, I have decided:
*I need a new pr. of jeans.
*I will keep this outta-style, baggy jeans ....for biking around.
So within 1 wk. from today, be next fredanerdgirl in this jeans bike ride challenge photo album!

I commute in jeans because I don't want to have to change at work. That'll probably change this summer when it gets really hot.

Pam, I hope your SO is doing better soon - they must be very sick to be hospitalized with pneumonia. It is hard to keep up with your daily life obligations (and emotionally exhausting worrying about your loved one) as well as trying to get in to the hospital to keep an eye on your SO and SO's medical progress. Hang in there! tokie

ShootingStar, I think it's hilarious that you asked some random stranger to take your pic. That has me cracking up!

I wore jeans to make a quick trip to the grocery store this morning, but everyone else in the house was still asleep, so no pic.
