anyone notice an increase in the occurance of flat tires while on a bike path, rather than the road?

i recently moved. in my old city, there was no path that i could use so i was always on the streets. got one flat in 3 years. since my move a couple months ago, i have gotten 4 flats already. 4 in about a month and a half of riding seems like a bit much to me.

do i need to stay off the bike paths??

I haven't noticed a difference while on my local bikepath (which is kept really clean), but I do notice more flats when it's wet. I think the glass/shards sticks more to the tires. I've had a several flats recently, but have also gone for over a year with none.

You and I both may need new tires.
