    Toe Clips or Power Grips

I am still not wanting to use clipless pedals/shoes. A few years ago I tore my ACL skiing and had knee surgery, so I am afraid of falling and re injuring my knee. It took about 2 years to recover walking/hiking any distance, and it really didn't get better until I started cycling. I just never want to go thru that again. I ride 20-25 miles 3-4 times a week.

So, after reading all the posts about using the upstroke to get more power especially in hill climbing, I think I would like to try either toe clips without straps or 'Power Grips'. These are the ones I have been looking at. I'd also appreciate any other suggestions.

    Thanks All!

I have half-clips on two of my bikes, dual-sided campus pedals on the other two.

Half clips are fairly cheap if you decide to change to a different system.

For what it's worth, I really really really love my PowerGrip straps.
Here I am on a very cold day, keeping my feet toasty warm in my insulated hiking shoes, with heavy wool socks, and my PowerGrip straps adjusted to accomodate my bigger winter boots. It's very hard to jam clunky winter boots into any clips, but no problem with my straps at all.

(That's just a water bottle cage showing on the frame above my foot, by the way)
I have no problem pulling up to get upstroke power when my straps are adjusted right. Nice and snug, but super easy to get in and out of quickly during unexpected stops.
    That's my two cents.
