    Forget about sundresses

Simplify and wear a large scarf sarong style. Solves the sundress or barbecue party dress.

There are some interesting full dress coverage styles. With the right pattern on scarf and size, one might be able to do things.

There was a mall store in the '80s that had plenty of clothes that were just fabric in tubes or whatever? Anyone remember that place? It wasn't Benneton, but it had some similarities--just a few solid, coordinating colors.

Sarongs are always too small to fit around me to be comfortable as a dress. :P

Yes, Units! I remember that place! I had a skirt from them that I LOVED!

Ooh, and a tube thing that I wore over my head when in the convertible...actually, probably the precursor to the Buff!

I wonder if I could wear that. Those are some tiny women and they have just a little fabric left on some of those ties.... I'm not that tiny. I wonder if it would fit around me.
It looks very cool, though, that's for sure (cool temperature wise and cool style wise).

I remember Units, too. I LOVED those things. Of course, I wore leg warmers in the summer, rolled up my jeans, and wore two pair of socks at a time, so I guess my fashion sense in the 80's could be considered questionable...

I love the video. I have never been good at scarves, shawls or any of that stuff.

I don't think these fashions would work with my Xootr, though.

Some of the tying techniques in the video link, do feature the same end result/look in your link, Zen.

I actually found the video informative. I confirm I have worn skirt-scarves to management meetings with heeled shoes and pantyhose, top and dress jacket. It works for me. I wear pantyhose, otherwise it will look too beach-like strange/wierd in the boardroom.

And for cyclists...your toned legs can hold up well in such attire.

I like sundresses. Seems like we had this conversation before.

What do you define as a sundress exactly?

Mother is quite the seamstress and made me a complete set of Units. I thought the concept was pretty neat.

True, I forgot about them 15 yrs. ago..shortly after I took up cycling again. I sewed my own sundresses and still have them somewhere. Part of my bohemian-flower child look...which have forgotten /abandoned.

Am just presenting options that are cheaper if one wants to return to "sundresses".
