Sounds yummy! Fish is so good for you.

I can't eat any food that is in it's original form (couldn't eat that fish because it still looks like a fish, can't eat shrimp or lobster because it's in its original body). I can't eat any meat on the bone (chicken, ribs, steak, etc).

    I'm weird like that.

    but that herring looks good...

I've probably never had the good stuff. The only pickled herring I've ever had was the kind from a jar in the grocery store that we were forced to eat every New Year's morning. Yecch. But papaver, yours look delicious! Do you eat the whole thing (other than the heads, which have been removed in your pic)?

Back when I used to volunteer at the Vancouver Aquarium and fed the fishes, we often used herring. I think I can clean it and chop it up into 1inch steaks in about 3 seconds.

edit: when I re-read this, it sounded weird that I was feeding fishes with fish, but they eat them. Along with smelt, shrimp, and occasionally clams. The resident octopus got a whole dungeoness crab - alive...
