ha. I always find getting back to my car after a long vacation or a period with out it liberating.
I've never quite lost the novelty of having my own car and being able to go whereever I wanted! Yay Freedom!

It's not like I haven't driven a car in weeks. Oh. Actually it is. Well, it's not like I haven't driven a car in months. I usually drive a couple times a week to pick up or drop off daughter somewhere.
Since I got back from the Omaha trip (720 miles), I'm staying off the bike until my knee gets better. (Knees did great until the 2nd to last day. Then I developed IT band issues, apparently.) That means I'm driving to work.
What is this "Parking" thing?? It is so complicated! And I feel pressured to drive so fast. If I drive 30 mph in a 40, everyone piles up behind me instead of passing me. I'm just not used to descending that particular hill at 40 mph. And...gas??

Sometimes when I've been riding my bike a lot I find myself checking my helmet mirror when I'm walking down the road and hear a car approaching behind me. Then I realize I'm not wearing a helmet, I'm walking!
And yes, I now sometimes slow down while driving down a hill in my car, as though I was on my bike.![]()

I feel very polluting when I drive... but I want to stick my head out the window at a four-way stop, since there's just no way anybody can see me if I'm in this car thing!
I'm going to be renting one in a few weeks... for a *whole week* to travel East and spend a week with my siblings, one of whom is getting wedded. It'll be weird. (Yes, I'm tossing a bike in there; hopefully the recalled Dahon will be ready but if not, the Trek will be peachy.)
I feel like a big waster after I get back in my car after many days going without it. On the other hand, I feel a little giddy, like I am driving a go-kart. It's like, wheeeee! Vroom, vroom, goes me!
