mayanorange - have you worked with either of these two? Any comments about quality of the screenprinting, custom service, t-shirt quality, accuracy of fit/sizing? Spreadsheet is very weird for size info. They appear to provide chest measurements for a shirt laid flat, rather than the circumference.

Zazzle and Spreadshirt allow you to upload your designs and add them to a shirt that's printed only when someone orders one. They even have athleticwear, so you could make your own almost-jersey. I was thinking this would be a great fundraiser for those of us doing charity rides. TE logos would probably have to be removed, but the design ideas would go to good use! Just thought I'd throw it out there.
Anyone have recommendations for other companies?

SK- I've used Zazzle for postcards before, but not for shirts. I know one place who get custom shirts- I can ask who prints them. They are printed on American Apparel tees, which are really nice. I have a feeling they go through a more bulk place tho. I'll check.

I used customink.com last year for our team's LiveStrong walk shirts. We chose the WICKid tech tee because we wanted something that would be cool if the weather was not so I can't comment on the regular t-shirts. So far it's held up very well in the wash. They also made a contribution to my LiveStrong account because they noticed the shirts were for a charity event, which I thought was very cool. I don't believe you could have a saved design and order one at a time, though. Pricing is based on the number of shirts in the order.

I thought their customer service was excellent. There was a slight issue with the dye lots for my order and they actually called me ahead of time to tell me. They went ahead with my order and told me to call them if I was not satisfied with the shirts. The shirts were slightly different in color so I called customer service. They explained that they would normally have sent the whole order back to their supplier to get it corrected, but they had a slight delay in receiving them so they went ahead with the order in order to make the shipping deadline. My options were to send them all back for correction at their expense or they would refund 30% of the total order. We didn't have time to send them back so we took the discount. They were very pleasant to deal with throughout the entire process.

So the shirts I was thinking about are from VGkids.com. They are really nicely printed and stand up in the wash, but again this is not an order as you go company. I figure before I'd offer stuff up for sale at a place like Zazzle, I'd get one made as a test. The thing I like about Spreadshirt is you can have the design lower on the shirt if you want, rather than the standard smack in the middle of the chest area.
