Ride for Livestrong - Astana's new website

So, in keeping with Lance's comeback, Astana now has a website devoted to their global cancer initiative:

    http://www.rideforlivestrong.com/index.html

I can't decide if I should choose Chris Horner or Levi Leipheimer when I enter the contest...

They aren't paying Lance a salary. They're giving him a means to promote his cause instead.

Considering the additional publicity that Astana is getting with him, I'd say it's a win-win.

Yes, it's definitely a win- win. Although Lance isn't being paid a salary from Astana; he certainly is collecting some rather large appearance fees.

Heh. I guess Astana stands for "All About Lance" in Khasakstanian (or whatever the heck they speak)

I imagine Leipheimer and Contador are just thrilled to bits ...

Yeah, it takes an ego the size of Texas to think you can start an organization, put your name on it, and use it to make a dent against cancer. Especially when you decide to go global. I personally am glad someone has an ego that big.

I think I'll pick Horner for the contest.

I know what you mean jobob...

Now mind you I am a cancer survivor, I have NOTHING against what he does for cancer research, but I'm just not a huge Lance fan.
I loved watching him ride back in the day, but didnt like seeing him come out of retirement. Even if it was under the rouse of "raising money for cancer research".
I'm also a HUGE Levi fan, so I feel for the rest of the team. I'm sure they weren't thrilled. But then again if they said anything negative they would look like big arses, so they have to grin and bear it.

I dunno?? Just my opinion, and I'm sure it's not a popular one. Oh well.

As they say, opinions are like your backside- everyone has one!!
