    Mashed Potatoes

My favorite food. I just had to say it. Thanksgiving is a good excuse to eat them!! Don't need any gravy---I like 'em plain.

Actually, this morning, I had some cold mashed potatoes for breakfast! Did a brick (long bike ride in the cold, followed up by a 5K+ meter row & some weight lifting), so I needed some good recovery fuel.

I put my leftover pumpkin pie down the garbage disposal because it kept calling my name.

Leftover mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy are dinner tonight.

I love potatoes in all forms, but mashed might be my favorite. BF makes them with heavy cream and lots of butter. Personally, I think that's kind of a waste of calories, because I like them just as well made with 2% milk, but he makes them, so, it's his call.

I still didn't get my pumpkin pie. I'm starting to think it's a conspiracy. I just went to Trader Joe's specifically to get one, and they were sold out! I'm getting desperate. I may (I don't know if I can write this) have to bake one . No, not that!!! Anything but that!!!

Mashed sweet potatoes and cranberry-apple pie was brunch for me. And a handful of roasted almonds.

I love fried left-over mashed potatoes for breakfast. A little bit of olive oil, some herbs, and voila, hash browns.

Another favourite of mine is mashed potatoes (or sweet potatoes work even better) mixed in with canned salmon and some other veggies plus 1 egg into a casserole. It's a pretty decent meal for less than $2!

Mmmmm, jobob and I are sitting here waiting for the sweet spuds to finish baking. Wait, we're not sitting . . . we're going off to figure out what wine to open next. It's part of our winter training plan.
