Paolo Bettini was disqualified in the Giro today. At the finish it appears he closed the door on Baden Cook which caused hit to hit the barrier and crash out.I couldn't believe what I was seeing. If want the details go to

I thought this was going to be about the price of aftermarket front shocks. Did you know you can spend $700 for a XC fork?

He was only DQ'd from first place for the stage. The officials gave him fourth place, so he still has the overall lead.

They'll be needing the big knobby tires and 4 wheel drive to get through that mess... perhaps this needs to be a mtn bike race instead of a road race.

yeah - but lil Tommy D will be right at home! (btw, does anyway know why Bob Rolle keeps calling him "little Tommy D"?)
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Yeah Irulan, I know! I have my sights set on a Rock Shox Reba 80-115 with lock-out. They make it in a dark blue this year that perfectly matches my bike! It's over $500, but if I get that, I can put my white '04 Duke on my white single speed and all will be right with the world.

Sorry, can't follow road races, even though I'd like to. No way to watch them here, just got regular old cable.

Based on his web page (and on the team lists of riders), it looks like he's not riding the Giro d'Italia. But the Tour de France is definitely on his list.

    Here's a link to his schedule: http://www.voeckler.net/schedule.htm.
