He's a great advocate for us. A few years ago a bill was defeated that would have given a tax incentive to commute by bike (or walking, I think). Businesses have a tax incentive to provide employees with pre-tax transit subsidies, but no such luck for bicycle commuters, yet. I don't have a bicycle commute anymore, but I still fully support the idea.

Good idea, but limited to a few
The Bicycle Commuter act just passed is limited to Federal employees. It is estimated that only 11,000 federal employee commute to work via bicycle (and we won't know for another year what percentage of these actually apply for the $20 / month tax credit). I'm hoping that this bill is expanded to non Federal employees!
