Your fav local beautiful bike ride

FINALLY...we have taken photos along part of a local bike route that we do at least almost every weekend.. It actually requires self-discpline to stop...instead of descending gleefully down the hill with fabulous views unfolding every few metres onward. Which probably explains why these photos got taken...after living and doing this ride nearly weekly since 2002.

It is a route that starts from home, winds through lovely quiet neighbourhoods, a local university campus which there is a regional park with some old growth trees, beaches, mountains (ones that you see are in North Vancouver known for mountain biking and local hiking), etc. Then we go do our regular weekly grocery shopping. Scenery is all still within the city.

When I am away from Vancouver, this is how I remember home in my dreams.

Looks like heaven on earth! I haven't taken too many shots locally but one day I will show you the beauty around me. Nothing like your home though, I love the mountains and ocean, neither is close enough to me.

I'm sure there are some lovely areas where you are. Do post some pics. WE did vacation about 4 years ago in Albaqueruqe, Sante Fe area. Included a drive out to Ghost Ranch, Georgia O'Keefe's area..FANTASTIC scenery. There is no area with such colour mountain rock in Canada that is like your area.

We only biked for a few hrs. on 1 day since we had to rent bikes...my bike didn't quite fit me. I found myself panting unnecessarily..because of the higher elevation.

Whew- what awesome scenery!!! And I thought my local parks were something to behold. You are so fortunate to have such a great place to ride. It would be a fun idea for us shutterbugs to post up pics of our favorite trails - I usually keep a small digital in my bike bag, but forget to take pics with it. Thanks for posting - I really enjoyed seeing your views.
