Yep, I signed up for 2 different organized centuries coming up and BOTH of them offer a "women's cut" jersey!!! It's so nice when they actually do this... my first century I really wanted a jersey but they did NOT offer women's cut so I didn't buy one... I did, however, buy one for the Solvang Century as it's such a cool jersey and was such a goal for me to complete that 5000ft climbing!

Does it make a difference to you? I have those lovely "wide" (my Mom says good child bearing ) women hips so I need the girl cuts!
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".

i bought the tour de palm springs jersey.. cuz it was my first century.. and of course.. i bought the breathless agony jersey..cuz you could only buy it if you "earned" it.. and i felt i earned it!

both are men cut jerseys (the BA one is a men's racer cut)

i would actually prefer they sell sleeveless or racer back jerseys.. as i don't even wear the short sleeved ones i already have... so don't want to buy more.. just to have them sit in my closet... i've actually figured out i can wear SS with arm warmers when it's cooler! lol!

but men's/women's cut hasn't been an issue... the sleeve however, have!

turns out I like sleeveless jerseys, too. never thought I would, but I get a lot of compliments on my "pipes" in them, so that's a good thing!! I can go for racer back on the road bike if DH is around to apply the sunscreen to the bits I can't reach. I don't like the racerback with a camelback as much, though, because of the straps....

    Namaste,

our team jerseys are menīs racer cut... because they donīt see the point of custom-ordering one or two womenīs- cut jerseys

the top doesnīt really bother me... what really bugs me are the shorts-- that chamy was *not* made for a girl!! i donīt even wear the team shorts to race-- iīd rather be able to sit comfortably on the car ride home than match my tops and bottoms, so i wear my PIs. if they would start offering girls-cut team shorts, iīd definitely buy them. hopefully this yearīs recruitment will give them reason to!

The problem with mens' cut jerseys for me is that they're just way too long. I'm only 5'2" and the one unisex jersey I have (bought at Bike Virginia a coupla years ago) is my least favorite since it's long, has the elastic on the bottom, and rides up on me as I ride. I wish I had a serger so I could cut it off and hem it around the bottom; course I'd lose the pockets then too! If I were doing a century that offered womens' cut jerseys, you bet I'd get one; I'd even pay extra for it! I also like sleeveless best to avoid that farmers tan look.

Speaking of all this -- last year our club's annual century actually offered women's cut t-shirts! I was thrilled as I hate big, long, dowdy mens' t-shirts that nearly hit my knees and have sleeves that come down to my elbows. The women's t-shirt was cut smaller, shorter, with short little sleeves and a feminine v-neck. They cost the club more to buy (and we ran out much quicker), but they are cute as a button. It's my mostest favoritest t-shirt I own!

So here's my rant: why do women's versions of the same thing, like the t-shirt above cost MORE than the mens?! Mine is even a size small, using WAY less material than a mens XXL and costing more! Makes no sense to me....
    rant off!

I've seen several team jerseys on EBay where the sleeves were cut out by the original wearer. You could always do that and then have your special jersey and wear it too!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
