Ok, so none of you know who this is, but I wanted to post it anyway.
A good friend of mine just did her first sprint tri on Saturday, and I was there playing bird dog, i.e. I ran around talking too much, getting in her way and taking lots of photosIt was the first time I ever even saw a tri, and it was such a blast to watch!
The swim was total chaos, but she did the 500 m swim, 23 km bike and 5 km run in 1 hr 34, finished 4th in her age group and looking like a million dollars. Just check out that grin. She's 5 years older than I am and the main reason that turning 40 holds no fear for me at all. And who knows - if she can teach me the crawl stroke I might just even consider signing up next year.
