Lance got off his bike and walked it up a hill????
Okay....so the hill looked like a wall and it was at - what? 13,000 feet? But still.....makes me feel better, next time I push my mtb up a hill!

That was fun to watch. Like you all have said, how manypeople can say they beat Lance? He says he is in "ok" shape?! I can only imagine...I would say he is in pretty awsome shape.

I was riding up Fremont Pass and through Leadville on that weekend, and I couldn't figure out why every other car heading up the pass had a mountain bike on it! When we were riding out of Leadville (Friday before the race) a huge pack of roadies blew past us, probably warming up and trying to acclimate. I like to think that Lance was in the pack. Not knowing anything about the Leadville 100, I was actually wearing a Livestrong jersey. I also like to think that if Lance really was in that pack that he would have dropped back to chat with me.
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.

This was Dave Wiens 6th consecutive Leadville win. No wimp there. I think Lance was the first to really push him.

Lance lost by a minute and a half, which is still about ten or thirteen minutes faster than last year's record setting time, when Dave went tire-to-tire with Floyd Landis.

Rider #3 came in 35 minutes after Dave and Lance...

    An awesome ride for both!

LA looked a bit thicker through the middle than what I'm used to seeing. I bet if he were a few pounds lighter he would have won the thing. I don't think he could be beat if he was in top form.

Yeah. I can only guess but it looked to me like he thought he could do it. The other rider (Wiens?) was making the same time and saving his legs
