The only surprise I had was the paint chipped off after about 7 weeks

AND the bottom bracket is not an easy size to find 73x113.

Other than that - ROCK ON!

I don't remember having any problems finding a BB for mine, though it is a 2005 model and things may have changed. I have an XT external bearing one.

I've had mine for three years this August and I am about to replace the swingarm bearings for the first time. It gets ridden hard in UK conditions and spends a lot of time in wet gritty mud which wear out bike parts for fun therefore I think that's good going. If you have less abrasive conditions to ride in (and assuming they have the same standard of bearings) then you may get much more time than that.

I'm not sure what else to say as the newer models may be completely different to mine, it is an amazing bike. I've had it for three years now and still don't think I could get a newer bike to better it. The only other gripe with mine was that they originally used the swingarm from the Racer X and mud clearance was rubbish unless you had skinny racer tyres on - I changed the chainstays but they resolved that quite quickly for later frames.
