    Building cycling facilities at work

At work, less than 20 ft. from my office window, there is a huge pit being dug up by the caterpillar ground excavation machine: they are building a spiral bicycling/pedestrian ramp to join up to a new road deck above. Right now, the workers are pumping out the groundwater..or more accurately, the Fraser River that is bubbling up before they lay down the foundation.

And the road will lead to this bridge we're building which will have bike lanes.

To be opened next summer for riding (and driving).

Suffice to say that proper implementation of well-designed cycling facilities fall much lower on the list of priorities compared to accommodating impatient/speeding motorists.

Sorry, I will tell later where this is...when it's finished.

    That's a cool photo.

We rode there a couple of weeks ago, it will be a lovely structure (even if I am finding the idea of a new bridge depressing).
