Good Job V. Way to tough it out on the run. It is really difficult in the heat the push through, 13 miles is a very long way. My DH read in Runners's World that the perfect run temp for the human body is 55 degrees F, so you are Superhuman......

OK, gotta go shower now, just home from a race myself and I SMELL!

Congrats! 97 is a lot of degrees to deal with! I'm glad you stuck with it and made it through.

    Congratulations, V! You did awesome!

Brutal weather. At least in a sprint you know it'll be over before it gets to the full extent of "HOT", but in an IM/HIM, no such luck. The entire day really is a test.

And... YOU PASSED! Do you get a cool medal for being 3rd? It's not a red bull can, but hey...

    This is what I got.

The plaque is on a wooden box with the bottle of wine inside. Inside the box was also a coupon for $20 off a bra at bradiva and a post card to send in to get a limited edition tridiva t shirt.

I really like the t-shirt that all the participants received. It's made out of Dri-Tec - very cool.

I am impressed you went for a HIM so quickly, and were able to do it.

So 12 women started and only 8 finished?

Yep for the Athena division... it was hot on the run. I saw a lot of people with flats on the bike. The roads were pretty rough in spots. It made me glad I was on my steel bike and running slime tubes.

Good Job V!!- I have been enjoying following your progress- I am impressed that you were able to persevere throught that heat! I definitely would rather run in the rain than 97F!!
Enjoy a bit of time off training now

Hey! I read your RR and saw the pictures when you posted it up! Just didn't post a response here in the thread.

You did a great job out there! All the training paid off and you had a solid day of it!

Your times were awesome too! You are a natural!

    Congratulations!
