I had thought going to the veteran Cemetery in Riverside to pay tribute, but decided that was too hard to get to on my bike
so I went up Lytle creek and snooped around the Metrolink station to see if could find a space to stash my bike.

maybe I can call a cab to take me home?

Woke early to get out before the winds kicked up. The wind has been awful the past few days and I'm tired of fighting it on my bike. When I left the house a little after 7 a.m. it was already 80F and the sun was shining! The winds were calm and I had to wonder how long this would last.

I set out to ride the route I want to use for the ride I'm hosting on Thursday. I had driven it but needed to make sure it was suitable for a club ride. What a beautiful route is all I can say. As I rode I marked the route in hopes of keeping all my "little peeps" on track. If someone gets lost they are on their own for I do not know the area I'm taking them through on Thursday. Along the way I was treated to some absolutely beautiful countryside. The climb up the ridge was well worth it for the view was so pretty. Lots of lush green pastures with rolls of hay dotting the landscape. An occasional herd of cattle could also be seen as well as some beautiful horses enjoying the sunshine. What goes up must come down and the ride down into the valley was a real treat as well. The climbing was not finished for out of the creek bottom I came, a long climb (about 1 mile). Not a tough grade but still my legs had a few choice words to share with me as I pushed my way to the top. From this point on it was rollers and the wind had made itself known. It went from calm to 20 mph in no time and of course I was riding right into it. I would have given my eye teeth for a tail wind today! I was a great morning on my bike. I logged 51.48 miles and had an average speed of 15mph (the wind did me in today). Time for a nice long nap on the couch!

    TRAINER! Raining and cold here!
1 hour 15 minutes "steady state" with heart rate between 125 and 140, while watching a netflix movie. Still haven't left the house! Lazy day.

I pumped the tires last night, woke up early, excited to commute today, but also woke up to drizzle. I wasn't going to let getting wet stop me, but since I also had a client meeting, and he had expressed concern about me riding my bike with his valuable item, I decided to drive to work instead. I wouldn't have driven just for his benefit, but why press the issue when really, I'd prefer to be dry.

As soon as I got there, I knocked over a full tumbler of water and it went all down my front, drenching me to the point that I had to change clothes. I heard mother nature laugh in the distance. She said I should have ridden.

I got home safely after riding 4 miles in a misting rain.
Raleighdon left his office AFTER the 2 hour downpour, so what he encountered in our neighborhood was huge amounts of standing water. At the last big intersection near our house, the cars were all backed up, afraid to go through this huge puddle.
So intrepid Raleighdon cruised through the puddle, followed by all the grateful cars. One by one they gave little appreciative horn toots as they passed him.

I did 12 miles as a joyride. Stopped by the lbs for a bit of air in my tires and asked if they got everyone ready for BAK that starts tomorrow. I want to do it someday but my son's birthday falls during it every year. Will have to wait until he doesn't care.
