New saddle I love

Okay so thanks to another post on here I got the whole seat bone thing figured out. I found a Selle San Marco Glamour Aspide Arrowhead K (womens specific) and I love it. The thing just fits. Its flat and light but the square butt area flexes and gives you freedom for your legs. The nose is narrow so no chafing and the cutout is in the right place. I think this saddle is new and apparently getting very popular for us girls. I did 35 miles the first day on it and forgot it was there. I hope this joy continues as I have a century next month. Just thought I'd share for those in search of the perfect saddle.

Sorry I should have included them. They are 140 x 272 mm, which translates to about 10.7 x 5.6. Thats the box measurements, but I just took a tape measure and the butt is closer to 6 inches with the slight curve. I don't know why that is but the box is marked correctly. It weighs 210 grams for those counting.

Knot - I have a 155 width on my road bike and love it. It's the exact same seat without the cutout. I find that the edge leading into most cutouts feels a bit sharp on my bit area so mine just has a groove and a more gradual transition. When I went to that seat last year, my riding changed. (along with getting the 0 setback seatpost for my short femurs). I got mine at Performance on sale. If you remember, I also went with tri shorts pretty much exclusively at the same time. Even more comfy for me then since I get more airflow even without the cutout. When I jumped on my bike for the first time this year (last weekend), there was no learning curve for my sit bones or bits this time. The "wings" of the saddle give a bit for comfort but are stiff enough for support. Hope this helps.

At least I have Brooks, which I really do love. I agree on the tri shorts vs heavy chamois. I'm finding now that my Brooks is really broken in and formed to my anatomy that I am most comfy in wool boxers under unlined shorts or pants. (or tri shorts or old-fashioned thin chamois)

I have it and love it too. Wasn't sure which I should use for 24 Hours of Sebring -- the Aspide or my cushier Specializeds. I had the Specialized's on standby, but did the whole 330 miles on the Aspide, without a single saddle sore!

Don't feel bad Knot- my sit bones are just as wide as yours.
The Brooks are the ONLY saddles so far that have a back width wide enough for us. The others don't even come close. I might have tried a Selle Anatomica, but I checked out the back width of their very widest offering, and my sit bones would have been riding right on the hard edges of the saddle. No thanks.
I wear my hips proudly!
(they're also good for knocking people out of the way in crowded situations)

I got mine at www.triVillage.com. It's actually down the street from me but Roy the owner is great about mail order. He's got good stuff, the kind of stuff people use. Good Luck. I also looked at the Jett but a friend of mine who manages a Specialized bike shop said alot of them come back. Hope it works.

I got the non-cutout version yesterday & rode for about an hour & twenty minutes. I really love the shape. The best way I can describe it is like a lollipop! The 155mm width is good for me (as it was on the jett), and I like the lack of padding.
I wasn't totally comfortable because I am in the process of healing a large chafed area from my selle an-atomica, but I didn't feel like this saddle made it any worse. I also had a slight bit of numbness, however, I normally shift around while I ride, but, because of my sore spot, I tried to stay in one position once I was comfortable, so the channel vs. cutout thing is still a toss-up. If it ends up causing a problem, I'll probably try the cutout version.

I think I'm going to try to get to my LBS sometime in the next couple of days and get my fit checked.

I've got a copy of the 08 Catalogue for Selle San Marco and the Aspide Glamour seems to have 6 models. In the cutout versions, there's the Aspide Glamour Arrowhead Gelaround - they have their own way of rating or suggesting sizes based on your weight and build - for this model they rate this S.I.Z.E. 255 with a suggested usage best suited road, OK for offroad, sorta OK for triathlon. It's 155mm wide, 272 long weiging 255gr. Then there's the Aspide Glamour K Arrowhead Gelaround, which is sized as S.I.Z.E. 245 rated best for offroad, OK for road and sorta OK for triathlon. It's 155mm wide, 272mm long and weighs 210gr. Then there is the Aspide Glamour Arrowhead, rated S.I.Z.E. 235, width is 155mm length 272mm, weighs 200gr. It's usage is 100% road, OK for Triathlon, sorta OK for offroad.
I was looking at this saddle in all it's variations for a while and trying to find a supplier online. There seemed to be great confusion over which models suppliers were actually selling, mixing up the product photos with different model names and also selling 2007 models with 2008 photos and applying the 2008 model characteristics, which are actually quite different. In the end I didn't feel I could trust any of the suppliers to be selling the model that I wanted. So I ended up buying a specialized ruby gel, which looks to be very similar in size, shape (including the cutout shape) and weight.
