I just received a message that a dear friend who has cancer is "in extremis" in the hospital. That means she's nearing the end. She introduced me and my ex-DH (and we were together for 17 years) and was such an important part of my early adulthood. It will be hard for her DH and her daughter (in her late 20s). I just pray that she's not in pain and that she's in peace.

How is your friend tonight? Have you heard anything?

I fear the worst. The hospital could only tell me "that patient has been discharged." When I asked what that meant, they transferred me to a nurse on her floor and when I asked specifically, all she said is, "that patient is no longer here."
So I've called her husband, but there's no answer. I'm sure there will be a flurry of calls tomorrow. Tonight, I just wish everyone peace.
Oh I am sorry to hear that! Big Hug to you! ((((tulip))))) I hope you have some closure soon as to what has happend.

I wish I could offer more than just my good thoughts and prayers to you and your friend's family. It was obviously a gift to know her.
Hugs and prayers.

Prayers and positive thoughts, Tulip. If indeed it was her time to go earlier today I'm sure that she is now free of pain and the limits of her body. Big hugs to you and her family.

Tulip,
Often, cancer patients who are quite close to the end are able to go home for the last days. Meaning discharged isn't neccesarily equivalent to deceased. Hope that's the case for your dear friend & her family. Wishing her a peaceful transition to what's next, and warm memories and loving family & friends to comfort her husband & daughter.
Hugs!
Any word yet Tulip? I have been thinking about you today and wanted to ask.

Prayers and good thoughts for you, your friend and her family. That must be very hard for someone so young. I hope for peace for all involved.
