I was babysitting my cousin last night (it's not really "baby"sitting, he's 15, and the 22 y.o. was there, too). On the weekend, the 15 y.o. goes to his dad's, who lives just up the road from me. I told him once the weather is nice we should go for rides on Sunday mornings. He said that'd be fun. Then I threw in "You should come with me on an MS ride. I think you can do 25miles." Surprisingly, he said he'd be interested in that. I told him he'd have to do some fundraising, and he started thinking of people to hit up. I was really surprised that he showed any interest since he's in that "I can't let anyone know when I'm enjoying something" phase. I was just hoping to pry him from that Xbox for a little bit, but maybe I'll find a part-time riding buddy and get a little closer to my cousin, too.

cool! When I was 15 I rode my bike through France for a month, camping with a group of other 15 year-olds (the leaders must have gone nuts!) Perhaps he'll really enjoy it! It helps that you are a cousin (a cool one, no doubt), and not a parent... BIG difference!

His life revolves around that stupid machine! Gets up, video games, comes home, video games. Girls want to hang out, nah, he'd rather play Halo I love video games as much as the next person, but he needs a little seperation. I really hope he does enjoy riding and spending time with someone other than his little friends. And I'd definitely like to think I'm the "cool" cousin

Oooh, I like the idea of getting him a jersey. I'm lusting after an Italia jersey myself, maybe I'll have to go on a spree. Then again, I'd hate to spend the money if he's not going to use it. Maybe if he does a few rides and signs up for an MS ride, I'll reward him with a jersey the day of the big ride.
